How Kairn works
How this directory works
Every therapist listed here has had their license checked against the state board that issued it, and shows the date we checked. Availability is a dated statement from the provider, re-confirmed every 14 days. Search order follows published rules and is never sold. Each of those is explained in full below.
Read it in full
- What we check, and how often we get it wrong — The verification standard in full, plus the published accuracy report — including where our own listings were inaccurate.
- How search results are ordered — The ranking rules and their weights, written down. Placement is never sold, and the spec is public so anyone can check the order against it.
- How we decide what to publish — Who writes and reviews the explanatory content here, and the standards it is held to.
- Who runs Kairn, and how it is funded — What this directory does, what it deliberately does not do, and where the money comes from.
- What listing here involves — For clinicians: what we verify, what we ask you to confirm, and what you keep.
What we cannot tell you
A verified license means a board confirmed it, on the date shown. It is not a statement that a therapist is a good fit for you, that they are accepting clients this week, or that they will reply. We date what we know so you can judge how current it is, and we say plainly when we do not know something rather than filling the gap.
