About Kairn
A directory for finding independent therapists
Kairn helps adults find and contact independent therapists. We verify listed licenses, date provider-reported availability, explain how search is ordered, and provide basic first-contact messaging and, where enabled, masked call forwarding.
What we do differently
- We verify licenses against primary sources — state licensing boards — and show the date each was checked. We cross-check professional identity against the federal NPI registry. (What that means.)
- We ask providers to re-confirm availability every 14 days. Listings that go unconfirmed are paused. A recent confirmation is a dated provider statement, not a guarantee of a response, appointment, or fit. (See the accuracy report.)
- Our search-ordering rules are public. Anyone can read the rules and weights; placement is never sold. (How ranking works.)
- No client reviews and no ad-tracking pixels — by design. Trust here comes from verification and freshness, not ratings, and we don't sell or share your data.
- We link out to providers' own websites. The directory serves the therapist, not the other way around.
What Kairn does not do
Kairn does not provide therapy, diagnose anyone, make a clinical recommendation, or coordinate care. The therapists listed here are independent. They decide whom to accept and handle fit, intake, scheduling, fees, insurance, records, and care in their own practices. Kairn's contact tools are for making an initial connection, not ongoing clinical communication or emergencies.
How Kairn is funded
Kairn is paid by the therapists who list — a flat membership, never per-referral and never for placement. The client side is free. Because we don't run ad pixels and don't sell data, our incentives stay pointed at accurate, useful directory information.
